Meet Jesse - Owner of STraight to the point kennels

I’ve been involved with dogs and hunting my entire life. What started with family hunting trips grew into a passion for versatile hunting dogs, beginning with my English Springer Spaniel, Max, and later my German Shorthaired Pointer, KC. After losing Rufus, I got my first German Wirehaired Pointer, James, who exceeded every expectation I had for a dog. James earned his NAVHDA Natural Ability Prize 1 (112), Junior Hunter title, and both Champion and Grand Champion titles in the show ring.

Through James and his offspring, I’ve focused on breeding healthy, well-rounded German Wirehaired Pointers that excel as both family companions and hunting dogs while maintaining breed standards.

I also discovered a passion for guiding hunts and training dogs. Watching hunters experience successful hunts behind great dogs — especially first-time hunters — is incredibly rewarding. As a trainer, I focus on building confident, well-behaved dogs while helping owners maintain that success long term with a straightforward, practical approach.

I’m a proud member of the North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association, support the American Kennel Club, and work with GWP National Rescue. I’m always happy to answer questions and talk dogs, hunting, training, or breeding.
